Dance Arts is a pre-professional company that is organized under Florida Dance Arts Cooperative, a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization.  The goal of Dance Arts is to provide intensive pre-professional training for dancers along with multiple performance opportunities to prepare them for a career in the dance field.  Acceptance into Dance Arts is by audition only.

The dancers in this program will be cast in featured roles and pieces set by guest choreographers as well as all pieces in the HSD Ensemble repertory.

This group will meet on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for master classes with guest teachers and rehearsals for featured roles and/or with guest choreographers.  Dancers must audition to become a part of Dance Arts and are required to be enrolled in one ballet class and two additional technique classes (ballet, pointe, modern, and/or jazz).  The fee will be $70.00 monthly (September-May).  Cost of travel, conventions, competitions and workshops is the responsibility of the member.

Being a member of Dance Arts is a commitment.  All members are expected to attend all classes and rehearsals as well as participate in all Dance Arts performances and events including The Nutcracker and the Central Florida Dance Celebration.  Dancers that do not to attend or participate in mandatory rehearsals, performances, or events will be dismissed from the program.  Absences must be submitted in writing to the Board of Directors one week prior for approval.  Dancers are allowed two (2) absences per session (August-December and January-May).  Should a member exceed four (4) absences they will be dismissed from the program.  Any dancer that is dismissed from the program for any reason is ineligible to re-audition the following year.
