HSD ENSEMBLE 2010-2011
Purpose
The purpose of the HSD Ensemble to provide dancers with the opportunity to get involved in the community, perform, attend workshops and conventions, learn repertory and be involved in a group committed to furthering their dance education.
Performances and Workshops
The Ensemble performs at the Central Florida Dance Celebration and HSD Recital in addition to various performances in the community throughout the year. This year we will also be doing our very own production of The Nutcracker! Members also have the option of attending workshops and conventions.
Requirements
The HSD Ensemble meets once a week for rehearsals. Dancers wishing to be a part of the HSD Ensemble are required to be enrolled in one ballet technique class at HSD and attend an adjudicated class to determine placement. The fee is $25.00 monthly. Cost of costumes, travel, conventions, competitions and workshops is the responsibility of the member. DANCE ARTS 2010-2011 Dance Arts is an elite group of dancers who wish to train more intensively in a pre-professional atmosphere. Dance Arts is associated with The dancers in this program will be cast in featured roles and pieces set by guest choreographers as well as all pieces in the HSD Ensemble repertory. This group will meet during the regularly scheduled weekly rehearsal with the HSD Ensemble; however the group will also meet every other Saturday for class and additional rehearsals for featured roles and/or with guest choreographers. Dancers must audition to become a part of Dance Arts and are required to be enrolled in one ballet class and one additional technique class at HSD. Cost of costumes, travel, conventions, competitions and workshops is the responsibility of the member.
